Ted Baker is now able to calculate stock more efficiently

Clothing retailer Ted Baker has introduced new features to its database to improve stock allocation and replenishment.

The enhancements mean the firm is now able to set up flexible grading structures and model initial stock allocations prior to despatch, and use advanced replenishment algorithms.

“The immediate benefit [of the new features] has been to halve the time spent by the teams in both setting up gradings and creating initial allocations,” said Lee Greenwood, international senior merchandiser at Ted Baker.

“There has been a particularly enthusiastic response to the new system from our allocators and assistant merchandisers. They have found that amending stores’ individual allocation is now far easier, quicker and accurate – particularly useful should we be short shipped or have stock delivered to us out of ratio,” said Greenwood.

“The biggest benefit though is the fact that the system performs the stock calculations automatically and immediately shows the quantity and percentage of each item and size that is being dispatched – a far more intelligent solution that immediately adds value to the business.”

Prologic has provided the system.
