The People?s Republic of China is not a country ignoring the year 2000. Zhang Qi, chairman of the China Computer Industry Association has said that not enough work has been done in China to prepare for the date change. He said that banking, rail and airline sectors have all been working on the year 2000 bug, but many others are still lagging behind.
