Industry body The Infrastructure Forum (Tif) announced on Friday that it had been contacted by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) about its fight over Microsoft's controversial licensing plans.
Although the contents of the DTI's letter cannot be disclosed until Tif meets with its membership on 29 November, Tif chief executive David Roberts was not satisfied with it.
"I have not had any information from the government, official or unofficial, about what stand it will take," he said.
Roberts claims that Microsoft's recent adjustments to its plans will still raise costs by around 90 per cent.
