Charity the MS Society has implemented a hosted voice over IP service to gain greater control over the cost of calls and to consolidate its communications set-up.
The organisation will start using the Voicenet Solutions platform with Cisco hardware in early 2009, initially at its four regional headquarters in the UK with a view to extending to all 350 local branches.
MS Society hopes to save on call costs with the new system, lowering its carbon footprint by reducing the need to travel for meetings, as well as uniting the business operation – including home-based staff – onto a single communications network.
"As a charity, the MS Society needs to make sure we are getting the best possible service in terms of cost, quality and training. This solution does just that and has enabled us to enhance our charity-wide communication, supporting our work to help people affected by multiple sclerosis," said Chris Moore, operations manager at MS Society.
