IntraNet Solutions, a supplier of web-based document management products for corporate intranets, is announcing a XML (eXtensible Markup Language) strategy to enable the better management of complex content on the Web.

IntraNet Solutions' strategy will include: managing relationships between XML components and the document; a seamless environment between the author and the consumer; integrated link management with third-party XML authoring tools; and automated refinement of XML objects for browser consumption.

Vern Hanzlik, VP of product marketing at IntraNet Solutions, said: "XML extends the Web by giving users the ability to richly define and tag document content in a more meaningful way. It is well-suited for data-driven application areas such as parts catalogues, financial reporting and engineering specs."

XML bridges the gap between the highly complex SGML language and the current language of the Web - HTML.
