The US Navy is facing allegations that it has plans to discharge a sailor after gaining information from his AOL account. Senior chief petty officer Timothy McVeigh is claiming the Navy violated the federal Electronic Communications Privacy Act by requesting confidential subscriber information from AOL. The information had McVeigh's marital status listed as 'gay'. McVeigh has issued a lawsuit alleging the Navy requested confidential information from AOL. Melbourne, Australia

Coroners have criticised Victoria ambulance service's computer system following the death of a 26-year-old man. An inquest was told that Stewart Marshall died from an apparent methadone overdose, but could have been saved if he had received prompt medical attention. The criticism was directed at the lack of automation in dispatching air ambulances to attend incidents that are difficult to access by road.
