Sainsbury's head of IT to be replaced

Sainsbury's head of IT Maggie Miller is being replaced only weeks after the company was forced to write off £260m because of problems with supply chain systems.

Miller is leaving the retailer to be succeeded by Angela Morrison, director of European strategy at Asda and formerly in charge of IT at Wal-Mart's UK subsidiary.

Sainsbury's says it has resolved the supply chain problems that left staff unable to properly stock shelves at stores.

The supermarket giant is also renegotiating its outsourcing contract with Accenture (Computing, 21 October).

Several executives have left Sainsbury's this year since the arrival of chief executive Justin King.
