With the launch of three low-end print servers, Intel has shown its intention to capitalise on the SME market.

Among the offerings is Intel's first print server designed specifically for small business - the InBusiness Print Station - and two NetportExpress 10 print servers for 10Mbps networks.

The InBusiness Print Station features two 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports and includes built-in GUIs based on the Windows interface. It is the latest addition to Intel's 'InBusiness' family of network products, which includes the InBusiness eMail Station and InBusiness Internet Station.

With the NetportExpress family, Intel provides remote management of printers and print servers through SNMP consoles, such as Intel Device View and HP OpenView.

Intel has also announced Linux and Netware 5.0 support across the entire NetportExpress product range. An increasing number of big hitters such as Intel are launching products that support this low-cost Unix solution.

All of the above products are available now. The InBusiness Print Station is priced at $219 (#137). The NetportExpress range starts from $249 (#156).

Intel: (01793) 403000.
