Sun Microsystems is to unveil a microprocessor architecture designed to handle complex graphics, voice and video. Sun claims the Microprocessor Architecture for Java Computing (MAJC) turns a single chip into a parallel processing system. It plans to manufacture basic chips for consumer electronics and more powerful chips for Internet and corporate data applications.
