Google's market share in the US search industry by 1.5 per cent last month, extending its lead over rivals.
The Mountain View based company conducted 58.5 per cent of all web searches for the month, up 1.5 per cent from the previous month, according to intelligence firm comScore.
Second placed Yahoo slipped 0.8 per cent to a 22.9 per cent share, while Microsoft sites fell 0.6 per cent to a 9.7 per cent share.
The US ran 10.5 billion searches on the top five engines in October, a 12 per cent increase on the previous month.
