Security vendor Secure Computing today increased its range of deployment options by launching firewall, web and mail security products as virtualised applications, in a new deal with software and server firm VMware.

The offerings will provide customers with an easy way to secure their virtualised environments, whether they are multiple virtual machines or multiple applications within a virtual machine, said the firm.

"For us it's about integrating our existing infrastructure and leveraging the market leader in virtualisation," said Secure's European product manager, Mike Smart. "This announcement also gives us the ability to provide flexible deployment options for our customers."

The business benefits also extend to reduced operating expenses and capital expenditure, alongside simplified management with Secure's Firewall CommandCentre.
