Communications solutions provider Thus has launched a new set of voice over IP (VoIP) services for smaller enterprises through its Demon brand.
Demon Voice Over Broadband enables businesses to make multiple calls over the same broadband connection simultaneously, removing the need to purchase additional phone lines, according to the firm.
Customers do not need a Demon broadband connection to use the service, which is based on the Session Initiated Protocol (SIP) standard, according to Falk Bleyl, senior product manager for VoIP at Thus.
"Being standards-based makes the service attractive because it gives [firms] a wide choice of which hardware and software they use to connect with," Bleyl said.
The service also allows individual users or IT administrators to provision and monitor their service through an online portal, while remote workers can use their allocated phone number both inside and outside the office from their laptop.
The service comes in three packages, each with set up costs of £14.99, starting at £2.99 a month plus standard call charges.
