A project to upgrade the IT desktop system across the Cabinet Office is behind schedule according to minister Tom Watson.
The Cabinet Office has initiated eight major in-house IT projects over the last five years. Five were delivered on time, two one month late, and the eighth is currently delayed.
Watson revealed the delay in a written answer to Parliament.
"The system is currently in its pilot stage which has been extended until functionality and performance have been proven," he said.
The Cabinet Office would not reveal how far the project is behind schedule.
