AkzoNobel signs HP for workplace services deal

The paint manufacturer wants to boost staff efficiency

Industrial chemicals group AkzoNobel has signed a five-year workplace services deal with HP to cut costs and improve employee productivity.

The contract will see the introduction of a global service desk in 13 languages, application life cycle management, asset management and mobility services.

HP subsidiary EDS will provide the services – which may also include introduction of thin-client technology, mobile working and collaboration tools – to some 26,000 staff in 29 countries.

The deal aims to standardise workplace services to reduce costs and downtime, while boosting employee productivity.
