Communications minister Lord Carter is to face a grilling from MPs over his Digital Britain report and plans for next-generation broadband rollout.
Carter will give evidence on the report to the Commons business and enterprise committee on Tuesday 10 March.
MPs on the committee said they want to explore the benefits for UK business of the super-fast broadband network to which the government aspires, the funding needed, and the commitment to a universal service obligation for broadband.
They will also cover topics such as digital privacy and electronic snooping, as well as spectrum licences.
Carter has faced criticism for lacking ambition in his Digital Britain plan.
