The self-styled 'King of Spam' has abdicated. E-mail marketer Stanford Wallace ended his feud with anti-spam activists when he agreed to support the Netizens Protection Act, which would let consumers file a $500 lawsuit for each junk e-mail received. In return, Wallace wanted support for a business model under which marketing materials would only be sent through ISPs who "opt-in".
