Thin client software firm 2X is making its application server available as a free download as part of a limited offer.

The tool serves up just the application’s window to users, not an entire remote desktop.

“Application publishing offers companies significant advantages: by not having to install, update and maintain corporate applications locally, administrators can save time,” said Nikolaos Makris, 2X’s president.
The download will be offered to the first 100,000 applicants.
