Web content management (WCM) specialist Mediasurface has released a new version of its flagship WCM product for enterprises, Morello, featuring support for ASP.net, the Google appliance plug-in and a new document conversion tool.
Morello 5.5, launched at the Information Management Solutions (IMS) exhibition, adds integration with Microsoft's Visual Studio 2005 software development product to existing support for Java Server Pages (JSP) delivery, offering companies more flexibility and choice, according to the firm.
"It brings in a whole new market for us and offers massive flexibility for the business market because now it doesn't matter what they're developing their web site in, and the level of integration is fully embedded," said Andy Peart, chief marketing officer for the firm.
A document-conversion capability means users can update content using Morello or in the original format in Microsoft Word if they wish.
"Other systems allow the conversion of Word documents into web pages but
typically you have to go back to the Word format if you want to edit them,"
explained Peart. "But Morello gives users complete flexibility in what they do.
"
Morello 5.5 also offers support for the new Google appliance plug-in, allowing
customers to incorporate sophisticated search into their web pages.
