In order to deliver faster database results, Cisco has invested in Persistence, a company offering ORB-based software. Cisco took an equity share in Persistence because it liked its application server caching software, Power Tier. Arriving next month, Power Tier works with Java, Visual Basic, C and C++ and runs on a number of platforms.
