Hewlett-Packard has announced its storage market strategy, with products to follow in 1999. HP has committed itself to developing Fibre Channel products for Storage Area Networks (Sans), which it promises will be on release long before any of its competitors'. Nick Dagg, enterprise storage marketing manager in the UK for HP, said: "We decided to make the move into Fibre Channel some time ago, as that was the way we saw the storage market going. As a result we are delivering the products now while our competitors are only delivering the roadmaps."
HP is also promising to take the stress out of storage by giving a 100 per cent satisfaction guarantee for the first 90 days. It is also promising minimum administration with software-based San management.
