Passport Office freezes PASS system for one year.

The Passport Office has frozen the rollout of its Siemens PASS computer system for a year, pending implementation in a new Durham passport office and satisfactory working in Liverpool and Newport. Capacity will increase by 25% with 600 extra staff, adding a third to the price of passports to £28.
