Southend Football Club has installed tills and software to improve its facilities following its promotion to the Coca Cola Championship this season.
The club has been promoted twice in two years but did not have the off-field facilities at its home stadium Roots Hall to match its recent on-field success.
Southend FC chief executive Geoffrey King says the club, which recently knocked Premiership leaders Manchester United out of the Carling Cup, wanted to improve customer experience and boost its off-field profits.
It installed Triangle’s InfoGenesis point-of-sale software, run on an IBM X server, to replace its combination of electronic cash registers and cash boxes, which often meant the club had to wait days for reports to be collated daily.
‘Only four matches into the season, we have already experienced a number of benefits from the new system,’ said King. ‘We have seen quicker sales throughput at the tills, the system is simple to use and training of the operators was very fast.’
Through a real-time centralised database and integration with third party applications like customer relationship management (CRM), Southend FC can understand more about its, personalise its service and consequently better influence buying decisions.
The InfoGenesis system drives 23 touchscreen terminals throughout the function suites, lounges, outlets and kiosks in the Roots Hall Stadium.
Staff no longer has to input information as all relevant data is captured and as soon as a transaction is complete, reports are automatically emailed to the financial controller.
