B&Q has awarded a #6m contract to provide retail hardware and services to Siemens Nixdorf. Siemens Nixdorf will roll out its Beetle point-of-sale system and thermal receipt printers to all 287 B&Q stores. The Beetle point-of-sale system is equipped with a Pentium processor, and is optimised for Windows NT and Opos standards. Siemens Nixdorf will also install its Primergy server running Windows NT to extend B&Q's back office capabilities.
