Asda expects to save as much as £200,000 a year when it completes the rollout of expense management software at the end of August.
The UKâs second largest supermarket will use software from GlobalExpense to manage up to 2,500 employee expense claims each month.
At the moment the company still uses paper systems to manage expenses for head office staff based in Leeds and Leicestershire.
âColleagues were unhappy with the manual system, especially colleagues who travel extensively overseas,â said Asda reward manager Mike Hazelgrave.
âPeople sometimes had to wait five to six weeks before being reimbursed,â he said.
Using the automated system, staff can claim expenses online and funds are reimbursed within a week, saving Asda £200,000 a year in time and administration, said Hazelgrave.
