IT services group Xansa got a significant boost to its share price this week after it won half of a ten-year £500m deal to supply finance and accounting services to the NHS.

After being named by the Department of Heath (DoH) as a preferred partner, the firm's share price boosted 17 per cent, or nearly 14p, to 92p by the close of trading on the London Stock Exchange yesterday. The company will take a £250m share of the deal, with the other half being handled by the DoH's internal IT department.

The deal also helped to push the Computing 30 up this week, gaining one point to 136.

Two other firms also had good weeks, with security firm Ncipher up 7.6 per cent to 191p, and Autonomy up nearly nine per cent to 206p. LogicaCMG also picked up nearly seven per cent, moving its share price up to 186p.
