Rolls-Royce opts for SSA Global
The marine business of Rolls-Royce has chosen a variety of SSA Global products and services to improve its business efficiency and customer service. The firm will use the systems for a clearer view of its internal supply chain, for better inventory management, to deliver products more quickly and to enhance after-market capabilities.

What blogging policy?
Some 94 per cent of employees say they have never been informed of a corporate blogging policy, despite a number of high-profile dismissals over the past year resulting from blog content, according to a survey of 1,100 consumers, commissioned by Hostway. The research also found that three-quarters of respondents would allow information from blogs to influence their purchasing decisions.

Aspect Software is born
Contact centre vendors Concerto Software and Aspect Communications have completed a merger to create Aspect Software, following shareholder approval. The new company has more than 5,000 customers in 50 countries and expects to realise annual revenues in excess of $600m (£338).

Oracle snaps up G-Log
At its annual user group conference last week, Oracle announced that it was buying logistics and transportation management software firm G-Log. The database vendor says the deal will expand its own supply chain management system with applications from the new acquisition, including G-Log’s flagship GC3 product.
