Henkel's application development will be delivered from India

Consumer goods firm Henkel has signed a seven-year application development outsourcing deal to reduce IT costs and meet future business requirements.

The contract with Accenture covers systems development and maintenance work, to be delivered from Bangalore. This includes all SAP applications, business intelligence software, customer relationship management (CRM) platforms as well as web-based systems.

According to Henkel, the deal is intended to provide a “more proactive” IT function and reduce costs, in addition to improving customer service levels and better meeting business demands.

“We are delighted to have reached a solution that is based on state-of-the-art technologies and work methods and allows us to satisfy the demands of our IT users even more efficiently and cost-effectively,” said Henkel chief information officer Peter Wroblowski.
