Thomas Cook Group UK and Ireland is undertaking a “radical modernisation” of its core IT systems.
The travel company has signed a contract with outsourcing provider Capgemini that will enable it to replace a number of its existing IT systems with technology supporting all aspects of travel management, from booking through to delivery.
Thomas Cook will implement an updated reservation and management system that will enable it to market and distribute both custom-designed and traditional package holidays via multiple channels such as its web site, call centres and travel agents.
The company said that its IT development programme will help integrate Thomas Cook's IT systems with external systems from third party providers such as hotel groups, airlines and car hire companies.
