Network operators suffering poor performance problems are offered help by US software vendor VitalSigns. System troubles could be caused by PCs, local servers, modems, a telecoms provider, an ISP, the Internet itself or even the remote website being visited - VitalSigns software is intended to identify which one is the problem.

The VitalSigns range for PC and NT servers is: Net.Medic, which identifies and cures common Internet problems; Net.Medic Pro, which has diagnostic and automatic monitoring capabilities; VitalAnalysis, a server-based intranet management product; and VitalHelp, a real-time fault management and diagnostic system for help desks.

Net.Medic is #35; Net.Medic Pro is #350; VitalHelp and VitalAnalysis server software both work with VitalAgent desktop software. 1,000-user licences cost #30,000 and #36,000 respectively.
