Hereford and Worcester Fire Brigade has installed a #&163;158,000 wireless network in a deal with a vendors' consortium. The system - built by RAM Mobile Data, Marconi, Joyce-Loebl and HM Inspectorate for Fire Services - connects the brigade's 42 fire-fighting vehicles. It will allow the officer in charge at the scene of an incident to send and receive critical information between the scene and the operational control centre. Hereford and Worcester chief fire officer David O'Dwyer said: 'It will ensure that vital information is immediately available to crews.'
