Sally Taplin, who has headed Waterstones' new media projects for the past three years, has moved to online business development consultancy Clarity.

As a consultant within the strategic marketing team, Taplin will apply her knowledge of e-commerce and Web media to retail, telecoms, leisure and financial services projects.

Taplin, who was responsible for taking Waterstones online, described her new role as "broadening my horizons". She enthused: "Clarity was an obvious choice for me. I used them for a number of projects at Waterstones and was impressed with their innovative, strategic thinking and strong commercial nous."
