Computing this week launches the next phase of our Agenda Setters initiative, bringing together the industry's opinion formers to debate the biggest challenges facing IT and business leaders today.

Earlier this year, we presented five key topics for discussion, with introductions by senior academics:

Now the Agenda Setters - a select group of chief information officers, academics and related experts - are meeting this month to help identify best-practice advice and recommendations for each issue.

The aim is to compile a report providing best-practice advice as a guide for business and IT leaders in the public and private sector.

In the first of the series, the group discuss the challenge of how to bridge the gap between IT and the rest of the business, and make five recommendations that will be relevant to everyone working in IT.
