Web conferencing specialist Interwise has launched Connect 7 - a new product designed to save organisations’ money and increase productivity by integrating voice, web and video capabilities onto a single platform.
Interwise Connect 7 is an IP application that enables firms to support audio conferences and web meetings for a fixed price and an unlimited usage basis, according to the firm's European head, Tony Gasson.
"Enterprise deployments of [conferencing tools have been] restricted because CIOs are terrified of the spiraling costs [of pay-per-minute models]," argued Gasson. "There is [also] an inherent feeling of insecurity around this model…and staff [often] don't find the interface user-friendly."
The new product can be deployed on a network behind the firewall, making it as secure as corporate email, and is highly integrated into the desktop environment, Gasson added. "We believe this technology is a productivity tool, so [firms] should give it to everyone in the enterprise, like email, to make them as productive as possible on a personal and business level," he said.
