Sales offices in the UK, France and Germany will survive a cull in storage vendor Maxtor's European organisation.

The company will move its finance and operations units to a single office in Ireland, and sales and marketing will be consolidated in France. Didier Trassaert, who joined Maxtor in mid April as General Manager of European Sales, said: "We are generally looking to rationalise our operations.

In the recent past we did not have a complete view of Europe.

"Now we will have a true European operation. Dublin will become the focal point for orders," Trassaert added.
