Alternative Investment Market-listed Sports Internet group has spent £25 million on Planetfootball, a company which designs and maintains 20 sports web sites, including the official online homes of Aston Villa, Newcastle United and Leeds United. Planetfootball is the brainchild of Peter Wilkinson, the Yorkshire entrepreneur who pioneered Dixons' Freeserve and Internet company Planet Online.
