Dorset County Council has signed a three-year deal to upgrade its Dorset Direct customer contact centre.
IT supplier Steria has been tasked with improving the council’s response to customers, allowing staff time to be spent on core activities, and supporting an efficiency savings target of more than £1.7m per year.
The benefits of the upgrade will be felt throughout the organisation, said Sue Hyde, head of communications and customer care at Dorset County Council.
“This contact centre is an important part of our council’s business transformation programme which will renovate frontline services and deliver efficiencies throughout the entire organisation,” she said.
