In the space of one week, Computing's Internet job site, job.net, has had more than 220,000 hits, with more than 600 recruitment companies advertising their jobs.

In one week, more than 7,300 advanced searches have been made. These allow job seekers to make a detailed selection on skills, location, salary and job title. The total number of recruiters' home pages accessed on job.net was 4,801.

Erik Hoekstra, Computing's publisher, said: 'We're delighted with the results so far. The majority of this activity came from users conducting searches, showing that job seekers prefer to search a wide database of jobs, rather than accessing individual company pages.'
