Cyber crime and the limits of spin

I was intrigued to learn that “a media and PR management plan” is deemed one of the five essential tools to combat cyber crime (Cyber crime has increased in financial services sector, says report).

I’d love to know, out of the 82 per cent of firms without “all five” measures, which are only missing the PR element – and, more importantly, which only have this one or rely on it heavily.

Personally, I’d rather my bank focus on detecting and investigating such crimes, and putting effective preventative measures in place, than spend money on a bunch of press monkeys tasked with papering over the cracks.
