Everywhere we go in our daily lives today, we’re assailed by consumer technology, and the one thing that makes it work is the speed and ease with which we can get what we want (Consumerisation: don’t fight it, manage it).
There are no training courses for any of the applications we use every day – Google, iTunes etc – so why is the work experience so different?
Business users will start demanding that their work applications perform in the same way. It has already started: there are a number of applications out there that are simple and easy to use, like QlikView.
Business users will demand that IT departments ensure that security is in place to allow the use of “consumer” applications.
