Betfair chief technology officer Tony McAlister moved from the US to the UK to work for the online gambling firm, yet he accepts that keeping IT skills in the UK will be a challenge.
In the meantime, the firm is building up its IT capability abroad, with development centres spread worldwide and plans to continue driving that strategy.
In this video, the Betfair IT chief talks about the importance of gaining international experience and gives his advice to technology professionals looking to move up the ladder.
