“I received a letter from the internet bank Egg last week explaining that it was transferring its business to Yorkshire Bank,” Nick Burr says in a ghostly voice.
“The trouble was it was addressed to my executor.”
He has since called them, explaining that he was the “late Mr Burr”, and discovered that he is officially still alive. T
hey had used the wrong template, which would be a relief to Nick if he’s ever seen the Sixth Sense.
“I suppose that’s one way of disposing of accounts,” he says.
