Where geeks fear to tread

08 Sep 2011

Ebuyer.com, which presumably isn’t looking for new customers in South Yorkshire, has declared Bradford to be the UK’s least geeky city. This is obviously a blot on Bradford’s image as Yorkshire’s own Silicon Tenement, an entirely fictitious name that we just made up.

Residents will be glad to know that it earned the accolade based on the qualifications of the working population, tech job opportunities and other unreliable statistics, which can be added together to make a quick press release for the local papers.

Meanwhile Cambridge, Gloucester and Brighton came top of this geek league. Maybe they could be twinned (tripleted?) with each other, which would be helpful for the rest of us.

South Yorkshire?

Nay, Bradford is in *West* Yorkshire....!

Where geeks fear to tread - Has Bradford moved?

Last time I looked Bradford was in West Yorkshire. Perhaps the stats used to determine the geek rating excluded GPS usage.

Geography not BackBytes strong point eh?

I think you'll find Bradford is in West Yorkshire, not South - maybe you're getting confused with Barnsley? :)
