Good news for seven IT workers, aged between 29 and 63 years old, at the Department of Housing and Community Renewal in Albany, New York last week: their ticket won the Mega Million lottery, which meant they each won $19.1m.
It’s bad news for four of their colleagues, who decided not to get involved, and didn’t pay $2 to be part of the syndicate. Unlike their rich mates, they went back to work. For ever and ever.
ABC News tracked down one of the losers, named Mike, and asked him why he didn’t take part: “I just wasn’t feeling lucky that day,” he said. You got that right, Mike.
