More Christmas ideas: wearable computing is getting to the point where even we can’t work out if it’s real or a joke.
Exhibit 1: Syte Shirt, which is a T-shirt with a pocket to carry your iPad (there are smartphone-sized shirts too).
Geek.com liked it: “Want a cool way to show off your brand new iPad wherever you go? An innovative T-shirt lets you do just that and allows you to literally wear an iPad, giving you a walking canvas to show off your ideas and designs,” it gushes. You can operate the iPad through the plastic, so it gives people a reason to poke you in the chest, too. We hoped this idea was cunning irony, but it seems not.
If you want to make a statement in this way, you can buy one for $50 plus postage here: www.syteshirt.com or, if you want one and you’re still living with your mum (no idea where we got that idea), get her
to sew a zip-lock polythene bag to one of your old T-shirts.
