Steve Christer, global head of testing, Strategic Systems Solutions

Christer redesigned the firm’s quality assurance processes, enabling the re-engineering of critical functions. He saved 80 per cent in costs and increased testing business by 150 per cent.

Margaret Corrigan, service delivery transformation manager, Service Birmingham

Corrigan led the service desk’s certification to IT service management standard ISO20000 in just 18 months, training hundreds of staff within 15 teams. Birmingham City Council is one of just three councils to hold the accreditation thanks to the relationship with its Service Birmingham joint venture with Capita.

Dr Morteza Alamolhoda, direct services manager, Aston University

Alamolhoda joined a reorganised IT services department at the university in 2005, and was charged with changing the work practices of 18 IT professionals. He implemented principles such as ITIL and the skills framework for the information age (SFIA), and created a culture in which knowledge, skills and experience are shared.

Lee Parry, project manager, Fife Council

Parry oversaw the implementation of a voice over IP system, improving mobility and hotdesking. The £21m project has led to monthly savings of 100 hours in calls made or received and there is now less pressure on the service desk.

Brian Wells, test and validation specialist, Experimentus

Wells has worked well with the firm’s customers, many of whom have expressed their satisfaction with his services. He launched a new application testing standard, and created new methods for measuring deliverables.

Renata Vincoletto, international head of IT, Camfed International

Vincoletto has radically improved the charity’s infrastructure, having joined the charity only last year. With a consistent software environment and centralised management, Camfed saves support time, while increasing the use of collaboration tools.

Rob Hobart, business systems technologist, Berwin Leighton Paisner

Hobart evaluates systems, designs architectures and troubleshoots serious IT issues. He has recommended many technologies, and is consistently looking for new solutions that can improve infrastructure and performance.
