Computerworld Antartica's latest edition publishes a feature-length analysis of the South Pole's networking infrastructure. This was installed in the polar stations over five years through to 1995, at a cost of $1m, by specialist subcontractor, Colorado-based Antarctic Support Associates. Key problems include the 'severe weather', which prevents people or equipment from coming or going between the months of March and August.
