The BCS' Information Systems Examination Board (Iseb) is organising a seminar entitled 'Project Management - Qualifications and Career Development', to be held on 6 March at IBM South Bank.
Experts will provide practical guidance on the implications for professional IT project managers of qualifications and career development.
The seminar has been organised to satisfy requests Iseb has received for a forum where the qualifications and career path currently available to IT professionals can be discussed.
Ian Thomson, chairman of Iseb, will be one of the seminar's speakers.
He previously worked at the CCTA and the Treasury. Thomson will be joined by Jon Bassett, chief project manager at Sun Life Assurance, who will discuss project management competencies at his company.
Iain Berry, training manager at Midland Bank, will also be speaking.
He will describe steps the bank has taken to improve the skills of project managers.
After lunch, Stuart Rippon of IBM will give a presentation on 'Paths to the Future - Professions for Project Managers'. The event will then conclude with a talk on Iseb qualifications, presented by James Baker, chairman of the Project Management Certificate Board of Iseb.
