Where would we be without the year 2000 problem? Certainly not at Laxton School, Oundle, which in mid-April will stage its first (and given the timeframe, probably last) performances of Countdown 2000, a musical written by its former music teacher.
The musical aims to demonstrate that the school has 'to take care of what we have in order to succeed in the future', says lower school head Viv Nunn. All together now: 'When you are testing your Cobol, compliancy problems just snowball,' and so on. If anyone would care to suggest some better lyrics, we'll certainly pass them on to the school.
