The flood of europhobia sweeping the country following William Hague's success in the recent euro-elections is lapping on the barren shores of IT hardware. Apparently, some keyboard makers are mistakenly slapping the euro currency symbol on the 'E' key, rather than the '4' key, which the drooping continental currency optimistically shares with the dollar.
Use the 'E' key, and you get an 'e' with an acute accent. 'Invoicing your important customers in a currency called 'e' doesn't impress, or get you paid on time,' says euro software manufacturer EuroType. And at the rate that the euro's falling, you certainly don't want your payments delayed.
