'The Information Explosion' is the title of the winter school being organised by the Nottingham & Derby branch of the BCS.
The committee has put together a programme which is intended to balance not only theoretical and practical aspects but will also meet the needs of a wide range of IT specialists and users.
The aim is to emphasise the use of tools and user interfaces. As always, the winter school is directed at those who use, develop and support IT solutions for today's business problems.
The programme will include the following topics: 'Business Process Re-Engineering: The Hype and the Reality', 'The Development and Deployment of Intra-net Solutions', 'Development Methodologies: Benefits and Limitations', 'Intellectual Property Rights: Winners and Losers', 'Data Warehousing: Exploit your Assets', 'The Human Issues of IT'.
The sessions will take place at the University of Derby, every Monday, starting on 7 October, and will begin promptly at 7pm.
